MK1 Pistols ship with the Sig Sauer Arm Brace, which according to BAFTE does not make this weapon subject to NFA control. The Primary Weapons System long-stoke piston system is an improvement over direct impingement AR-15 actions. By keeping propellant exhaust gases away from the chamber and ammunition feeding area, the PWS long-stroke piston system greatly reduces fouling in the action of the weapon. Using a one piece design, the PWS piston system creates a purely gas to metal operation, rather than metal on metal contact that you may see in other piston designs.
